Izzy's Day in Cincinnati! May 25 at 11:45 AM

Join us Wednesday, May 25th on Fountain Square, downtown Cincinnati as we celebrate Izzy's 110th Anniversary and the Proclamation of Izzy's Day in Cincinnati. We will be giving away sandwiches and announcing a special giveaway you won't want to miss!

In addition, you can join in the fun! If you dare, stop in to your favorite store and sign up to be a part of a two man team that will attempt to eat The 110 Reuben Sandwich. (The 110 Reuben Sandwich will be split in 1/2.  Team members are able to help each other out.)  The first 10 teams signed up will be entered in the competition.  The first two man/woman team to eat all of their sandwich wins bragging rights. Oh and YES, a very cool t-shirt and a $100 Izzy's gift card goes to each team member!

Fun starts at 11:45 am on Fountain Square. Competition starts at 12:15pm.

Description of the 110 Reuben
Sandwich

Your impressive feast begins with a super-sized potato pancake (fresh shredded Idaho potatoes mixed with onions and special seasonings and fried to a perfect golden brown). Then we add over 1 lb. of Izzy’s Famous Corned Beef, which starts with USDA Choice brisket and a special blend of seasonings, cooked fresh every day and sliced to order. Next we add a colossal pile of fresh, crisp sauerkraut, gouged with Izzy’s special dressing. Your sandwich is then smothered with imported Swiss cheese. Finally, this beast of a sandwich is assembled on a gigantic specialty baked rye oval loaf. We finish the ginormous sandwich with a jumbo order of Izzy’s own kosher sliced pickles on the side. This sandwich weighs over 5 lbs and is not for the faint of heart.

  • “Had some quests from Columbus area and Andrian, MI and wanted to take them to a "local" restaurant. My grandson and I decided Izzy's in Forest Park was the choice. They LOVED it. First the delicious pickles and then the famous Ruben and potato pancake. The waitress was great, very friendly and we enjoyed her conversation with our questions. They were very impressed with the food and her. I wish I knew her name but she was the only waitress there. Then even bought a jar of pickles to take home.”

  • “Mmm Reubens! I come here for a quick lunch and they are super friendly and prompt. I like to get the reuben salad. It is quite large and a very cool take on the traditional sandwich. It is jam packed with "good" lettuce, sauerkraut, grated swiss cheese, corned beef, chopped pickles, and topped with their homemade thousand island dressing. The cool finishing touch is rye bread croutons which seem to be homemade. They also have good sweet tea! ”

  • “Good, quick service and delicious food. Sort of a New York deli menu with a diner feel. Famous for Reubens. Their potato pancakes are the real winner though, don't miss them! Their soups are always good too.”
