Thousands Granted the Luck of the Irish

Thousands Granted the Luck of the Irish

On March 17 Izzy’s granted thousands of customers the Luck of the Irish.  How?  In Cincinnati and Irish communities everywhere it is widely accepted that a four-leafed clover offers good luck to the one that finds it, but what about eating corned beef?  It’s true.  On March 17 Izzy’s supported the claim by granting a special discount coupon to all who ordered corned beef.

A little history:   James Joyce mentions Corned Beef in The Dubliners, the famous book about the Irish.  Beef was corned in and around the Cork region of Ireland from the late 1600s to the early 1800s, and most of it was exported to England and Europe.  Izzy’s is pleased to bring only the best Corned Beef to the Cincinnati tri-state.  And that’s Good Luck to All!

  • “Love this location!  My fiance does too.  Told staff was our first time and she was patient and helpful with menu suggestions and questions.  We have already been back. Tommy, Andy, Reuben all amazing. And the potato pancake is terrific!  Thanks so much for being awesome, when we were having a bad day! ”

  • “Mmm Reubens! I come here for a quick lunch and they are super friendly and prompt. I like to get the reuben salad. It is quite large and a very cool take on the traditional sandwich. It is jam packed with "good" lettuce, sauerkraut, grated swiss cheese, corned beef, chopped pickles, and topped with their homemade thousand island dressing. The cool finishing touch is rye bread croutons which seem to be homemade. They also have good sweet tea! ”

  • “Izzys always has good sandwiches, particularly any Reuben variation because the sauerkraut is always crisp and tart. The pickles are the real star though, and we inhale as many as possible every time we visit. The potato pancakes are unique and definitely worth a try - particularly if you are expecting something like a hash brown patty or a soft doughy cake. ”

  • “I first started going to Izzys over 40 years ago. I remember Izzy working behind the counter across the street from WLWT. The food I had tonight was as good as when Izzy would hand me my sandwich in the 70s! ”
