The Red’s Reubenator!
CINCINNATI - The sweet taste of victory is now available... in a sandwich!
On Wednesday Izzy's debuted a new menu item celebrating the Reds Divisional Championship. Owner John Geisen says he's thinking about calling it the Reds Rubenator.
"Everytime something great happens in Cincinnati, or things that happen that aren't so great, we try to come to the occasion," said Geisen. "With the Reds doing this for the first time in 15 years, we thought, we're going to be a part of this."
So what can your taste buds expect from the Rubenator? For $8.95 you get Broiled Beef Franks (like the ball park!) and Izzy’s Famous Corned Beef topped with Sauerkraut, Ball Park Mustard, Imported Swiss Cheese served on Rye Toast.
Geisen and some of his employees also came up with a jingle to celebrate the new sandwich, to the tune of Take Me Out to the Ball Game:
Take me out the the ball game....
Take me out for some kraut
Buy me some pickles and tater cakes
Only the best ones that Izzy’s makes
Let me root root root for the home team…

“Love Izzy's Reuben's and Potato Cakes. This is the closest to my house. I live in Goshen but it's worth the drive. Had to make a special trip there for St. Paddy's Day. Great customer service. And great food. They have the best Potato Cakes in town.”

“Izzy's is a great place. a staple of downtown Cincy. They are known for their Ruben. However I recommend the Izzy's Mex (spicier Ruben) or "The Suzzy" which is turkey and cranberry-orange relish with cream cheese... it's better than it sounds.”

“Longtime fans "love" this landmark Cincinnati deli with locations throughout the city serving "hearty", "overstuffed" sandwiches (particularly the "terrific" Reuben) along with "famous" pickles and "second-to-none" potato pancakes; although the decor reminds some of a grade-school lunchroom, it's affordable and the staff is "a hoot."”

“Top of the list if you are visiting or live in Cincy. The reubens and potato pancakes are awesome! The turkey wraps are fantastic too. I’m hungry just talking about it…”

“Had some quests from Columbus area and Andrian, MI and wanted to take them to a "local" restaurant. My grandson and I decided Izzy's in Forest Park was the choice. They LOVED it. First the delicious pickles and then the famous Ruben and potato pancake. The waitress was great, very friendly and we enjoyed her conversation with our questions. They were very impressed with the food and her. I wish I knew her name but she was the only waitress there. Then even bought a jar of pickles to take home.”
