We want to thank our customers and City Beat readers for again voting Izzy’s the Deli winner of Best of Cincinnati 2022! Congratulations to all the winners and great runners-up, too!
Izzy’s has won this amazing honor for more than 20 years — and we’re still going strong!
We love you Cincinnati!
We are moving our Florence, KY store down the street! The new location, located at 7651 Mall Rd. will be opening this January. The new stand-alone store, next door to Chuck-E-Cheese, will have an easy in-and-out, being between 2 stop lights both before and after the storefront on Mall Rd.
The location will feature its own drive-thru, ample parking, heated outdoor patio, beautiful interior finishes, with a cool, retro exterior look.
We are very excited to open the new store up, as we have closed our former location next to Starbucks. You will find us open the coming week with a January 31st anticipated open date. See ya soon!
This year we’re celebrating our 120th birthday! (People tell us we don’t look a day over 100 all the time!) Since 1901 we have been honored to serve the great people of Cincinnati, and visitors from all around this country, our secret family recipes that have made us a true Cincinnati icon… And we’re just getting started!
You’ve come for our world’s famous reuben, illustrious potato pancake, our acclaimed pickles that’ll make you pucker 🙂 and delicious menu offerings that can only be had here.
We enjoy your stories of Izzy and Rose’s banter, not having menu prices posted (you better not come dressed in a suit, it will cost your more), or getting a cheaper price because you laughed at one of Izzy’s jokes.
Over the past century plus, we thoroughly enjoy seeing each and every smiling face share in and make the Izzy’s experience special, because when you have the heart, desire and belief that something is special, the end result is special!

Now that we can see each other inside our restaurants again, we can’t wait to craft all the delicious favorites you love – and make sure we keep you healthy and safe in the process.
Izzy’s, Greater Cincinnati’s home for the World’s Greatest Rueben sandwiches, has implemented several safeguards to make sure you will be able to enjoy your next visit to our restaurants – be it for dine-in service, drive-thru or carryout. (Don’t worry – we’re still available for delivery, too!) So, the next time we see you, things may look a little different inside, but we’re doing it all to make sure you enjoy the same quality meals you’ve come to expect.

You will not be required to wear a mask to enter our locations. We will, however, post a list of COVID-19 symptoms at each entrance and request customers experiencing any of them to respectfully not enter our restaurants. As we adjust to our new normal, we want to make sure we do everything possible to provide you with the food you love in a space in which you feel comfortable. Izzy’s is here to serve you safely; come on in and see us – we’ve got rent to pay!

We are excited to honor Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with his own sandwich, The Bengal King.
The sandwich is an overstuffed reuben served on grilled marble rye with a potato pancake and pickles for $11.99. Izzy’s famous corned beef, fresh sauerkraut, 1000 island dressing and melted imported Swiss cheese are combined and served on ‘striped’ marble rye and comes with Izzy’s famous potato pancake
“Joe finished his collegiate career as a Bayou Bengal and is ready to start his professional career as a Cincinnati Bengal,” says our President, John Geisen. “Izzy’s and the City of Cincinnati are excited to welcome Joe and what better way to do so than by having one of Cincinnati’s longest standing restaurants giving him his own sandwich.”
Izzy’s doesn’t just serve their World Famous Reubens at all of our Convenient Locations, now you can make them at home!
Next time you’re at your favorite Kroger look for our Izzy’s Famous Jewish Rye, Izzy’s Famous Honey White, and Izzy’s Pickles in the refrigerated section at Kroger’s.

The Simpsons have an Izzy’s — a restaurant and deli in the fictional town of Springfield’s Lower East Side. They have several sandwiches named after celebrities, including one named after Krusty the Clown.
This is based on the real Izzy’s Deli in Cincinnati, Ohio, famous for the complimentary pickles Bart references. You can see Izzy Kadetz (the real owner) behind the counter, and his wife Rose is the waitress. They were famous for arguing with each other and being snarky with customers as mentioned by Rose when she responds to Bart sarcastically, “Watch how fast I go” as she mosies away from their table. Their menu is emblazoned with the actual old-style logo from the restaurant.
Pickles!! Potato Cakes!! Pastrami!! Paradise!! There is just NOT a better sandwich shop to be found!!

Yelp
Had some quests from Columbus area and Andrian, MI and wanted to take them to a “local” restaurant. My grandson and I decided Izzy’s in Forest Park was the choice. They LOVED it. First the delicious pickles and then the famous Ruben and potato pancake. The waitress was great, very friendly and we enjoyed her conversation with our questions. They were very impressed with the food and her. I wish I knew her name but she was the only waitress there. Then even bought a jar of pickles to take home.

Came here about 3 years ago while knocking of Great American Ballpark on my list of all ballparks across America. Hands down the best Reuben sandwich Ive ever had, and as a New Yorker I know Reuben sandwiches. Would love to come back again in the future
